This rainy cloud black in color
decorating itself with its Mouval-flowers reveals its innocence misguiding you as
real rainy season before it comes.
You, the lady of beauty with your eyes
like Kayal-fish (cyprinus fimbriatus) and ear-rings in weight!
He, your man praises you, saying ‘these
flowers are laughing as your teeth’; went away for earning wealth. He will
return in rainy season as he assured you. But, the cloud indicates wrong
impression raining with thunder in pre-season.
Don’t believe
it is rainy season; the friend-maid consoles her lady with these words.
Poet: IdaiKadanar
This is a poem of second century B.C.
