Natrinai 216

A concubine adopting a kind of chastity relation with one man says these words.
It is bliss for me even if he not embraces me pacifying my sulk, if his wife will be well aware of my relation with him.
It is difficult for me to live in a village where he is not, even if he does not help me as hands help to eyes, when a dust falls in eye.
There is a historical event of a woman, who picks out her one breast for the illegal judgment of the unknown king which kills her husband; and stands alone on thatched platform on Vengai tree and lasts her life. Even after knowing this event, those who do not live together embracing each other in relation of husband and wife are not in my good book. (ref: Silappatikaram)
