Kodiyar, folk-music artists sing and
dance in the common yard of the village. After they move to another village the
yard where they performed their musical dance will seem bar. As the village
will not care the yard, my love become dull after my lover went on earning
wealth, the lady, the heroine feels. The friend-maid requests her lady not to
feel like that; tolerate for some time.
- Kodiyar will live by the of the village people.
- The do not save anything for the future; and enjoy.
- There is no native place for them. They will be moving village to village by bullock-cart.
- They will rest under trees; and play their drum in joy.
- Men wear Erukkam-flower on their head; women wear garland made of Avirai-flower on their breast.
- They use oil lamp at night.
- They blow their horn and beat their band that will raise sound as male and female elephants make sound for mating.
- They play their musical-instruments with the sound as thundering; and frogs sounds in rain-water.
- Their music will be rhythmic.
- They will carry their musical instrument in shaped-bags.
I feel my separation without my lover
as the people of village feel after the artist move. I cannot forget his friendship,
the lady says.
