Agananuru 282

The friend-maid cooking food to offer to God on the day of wedding of her lady, says these words.
The native of the hill hunts an elephant using his bow and arrow; and gets its tusk. By using this tusk, he digs the soil spring flowing with aim of getting gold. He gets corral diamond along with gold. While he digs the point of the tusk is broken. The broken pieces of the tusk float as pearl on the water as the snowballs float in rain. In this way he earns gold, coral and pearl wealth. He carries them tying on a sandal wood using a fiber-rope of a fragrant plant Narai. The hero is the man of this kind of the land track where the phenomena happen. This means the men of the bridegroom, the hero carries these three kinds of wealth to bride as wedding gifts.
The father of the bride, the heroine is rich in his wealth of Jack-fruits park.
It is the wedding day.
Bride’s father welcomes the bridegroom’s men. He offers her daughter in a kind of wedding ceremony. The peoples of the village who murmur on their clandestine love now speak about the marriage. The mother of the bride praises the man saying he is a suitable man for her daughter.
Now the friend-maid welcomes the gathering raising her hands up to the level of her shoulders stretching ten fingers together. Then she starts cooking rice to offer God in wedding ceremony.
