He went to earn wealth sailing in
Vangam-ship.
It is a clamoring Vangam (ship). It sails plowing the sea day and night. The
loaded goods in ship will be off-shored on sand of the shore. The navigator of
the ship will watch the light on tower (light-house)
and sails on.
My husband went on earning by the
sailing ship leaving me many days.
I feel the time is passing slowly.
“Saying these words”, the friend-maid
says to her lady, “you are in melancholy”.
North-wind in chillness is blowing. It
helps blossoming flowers Karuvilai, Pagantrai, water-lily, bitter-guard,
Kutalam, etc. it smells in the top-floor of our house. It lashes chillness upon
me. I am thinking about my Man who sailed in ship. My body is leaning for want
of his presence.
“Saying these words you my lady are
suffering”, the friend-maid continues “don’t be sad; he will return shortly”.
