A kind of Pine tree in India
You, my mind, if you decide to earn wealth in distance place, it is a good thing to be appreciated; but I wouldn’t come along with you, the hero says his mind.
Leaves of Indian Pine Tree are narrow. She (my lover) has hair like that of those of the leaves. Bees will be rounding hair to eat honey in wearing fresh flowers. Charity gives more happiness than her shoulder gives. You my mind, if you want to proceed go away leaving her at home, it is worth.
You have to cross some hero-stones on your route. They will appear decorated with peacock feathers and spears erected by their side. They will seem as warriors coming to attack. The hero-stone will be erected in memory of the hero who lost his life while saving cows from theft by Malaver warriors. The warriors drive fast the theft cows. While running, some of the calves draw back from running fast and appear with tear shedding. To save the calves the hero fought against the stealing warrior and gave their life in battle.
You, my heart, you can proceed on your own decision; but I shall not fallow you.

A poem by: Madurai Marutan IlaNaganar
The text is belongs to second century B.C. or earlier.
