flowers of Pungam tree and rice-frying
a comparison
Your relation with a new woman is murmured by all the peoples in the village, the wife condemns her husband.
You are the Man of the village where paddy cutting peoples place the cut-paddy-hay between lotus flowers in the field. They carry toddy to drink loading in carts. If the cart has hit in mud, they place sugar-canes on the mud to get the cart up. Such a fertile village is yours.
Yesterday early morning you have played swimming without shame, along with a new girl. The flowers of Pungam tree shed flower like rice-frying in water of a river-pond. You played in the pond. She wears flowers on her hair and diamond string appearing on her breast. She looks warm pleasantly. I tried to have the news in secret. But I couldn’t hide. A war broke out between Seliyan (a Pandia king) and other two monarchs (Chera and chola). Selian won the battle. The other king flew away from the battle leaving their royal bands on the in the battle field. The peoples happened to see it, laughed at the kings. As they laughed at the event in the battle field, the peoples in the village is laughing at your behavior with a new woman.
