The hero
passing through the forest of Tiruvenkadam Hills recalls his lover’s character.
King
Pulli was the ruler of Tiruvenkadam country. His warriors were uneducated. They
catch elephant-calves detaching them from their mothers crying. They used to
tie the calves with a rope made of flawed fibers in Maram-tree. They will tie
the calves in the entrance-pillar of the toddy-shop exchanging them for their
drinks. There will be plenty of ‘Maram’-flowers smelling all-over the forest. They
used to wear the flowers on their curling hair. Even, I am in such a distance place;
she wouldn’t feel for her loneliness. Such a kind of good character, she has. Her
eyes are wed-in-kindness. I am endowed with her love friendship.
