I decided to elope with him. The village is opening by mouth about the relation between me and him. Hence mother is always insulting me. I intend to in his home. While passing through the gap between two mountains I desire to eat Indian gooseberry and drink water that stands in the pit made by elephant foot impression like that of water stands in sugarcane field between two ridges (image).

262. பாலை

ஊஉர் அலர் எழ, சேரி கல்லென,

ஆனாது அலைக்கும் அறன் இல் அன்னை

தானே இருக்க, தன் மனை; யானே,

நெல்லி தின்ற முள் எயிறு தயங்க

உணல் ஆய்ந்திசினால், அவரொடு சேய் நாட்டு,

விண் தொட நிவந்த விலங்கு மலைக் கவாஅன்,

கரும்பு நடு பாத்தி (படம்) அன்ன,

பெருங் களிற்று அடிவழி நிலைஇய நீரே.

உடன்போக்கு நேர்ந்த தோழி கிழத்திக்கு உடன்போக்கு உணர்த்தியது.

ஊர் எங்கள் உறவை அலர் தூற்றிப் பூக்க வைக்கிறது. அதனால் அறநெறி பற்றி எண்ணிப் பார்க்காமல் அன்னை இடைவிடாமல் என்னை வருத்துகிறாள். எனவே அவர் மனைக்குப் போய்விட எண்ணுகிறேன்.

அவருடன் மலைப்பிளவு வழியாகச் செல்லும்போது, நெல்லிக்காயைத் தின்று, கரும்பு நடும் பாத்தியில் கரை பள்ளத்தில் நிற்கும் தண்ணீர் போல யானை அடி வைத்த குழியில் நிற்கும் தண்ணீரை உண்ண விரும்புகிறேன்.
