Driver! Drive the chariot fast through the forest without disturbing the deer that gallops with its mate after drinking water that flows on rolled-bubble-stones (image), so as to reach home before evening at that time of which she bewilders with her eyes and words. The hero requests his driver.

250. பாலை

பரல் அவற் படு நீர் (படம்) மாந்தி, துணையோடு,

இரலை நல் மான் நெறிமுதல் உகளும்

மாலை வாரா அளவை, கால் இயல்

கடு மாக் கடவுமதி பாக! நெடு நீர்ப்

பொரு கயல் முரணிய உண்கண்

தெரி தீம் கிளவி தெருமரல் உயவே.

தலைமகன் பாகற்கு உரைத்தது.

நாமலார் மகன் இளங்கண்ணன் பாட்டு

பாக! ஆற்றுப் பரல் கற்களின் மேல் ஓடும் நீரை உண்டு இரலைமான் தன் துணைமானோடு துள்ளி விளையாடும் வழியில் அவற்றிற்கு இடையூறு இல்லாமல் அவளது கயல் விழிகளும் அவள் பன்னிப் பன்னிப் பேசும் மொழிகளும் தடுமாற்றம் அடையும் மாலை நேரம் வருவதற்கு முன்னர் முன்னர் தேரை விரைந்து செலுத்துக.
