The lady refuses her friend’s mediation between her and her beloved saying these words.

I am not thinking about him. Let my eyes sleep happily.

He is a Man of littoral land where ladies wearing bangles indulges in VANDAL dance, a kind of festive game. During the game they garland their clay-baby that is made with flower ADUMBU that resembles bell and its leaf like deer’s foot print.

243. நெய்தல்

மான் அடி அன்ன கவட்டிலை அடும்பின்

தார் மணி அன்ன ஒண் பூக் கொழுதி,

ஒண் தொடி மகளிர் வண்டல் அயரும்

புள் இமிழ் பெருங் கடற் சேர்ப்பனை

உள்ளேன் தோழி! படீஇயர், என் கண்ணே.

வன்புறை எதிரழிந்து சொல்லியது.

நம்பி குட்டுவன் பாடல்

தோழி, நான் சேர்ப்பனை நினைக்கவில்லை. என் கண் உறங்கட்டும், என்கிறாள் தலைவி.

அடும்புக் கொடி மானின் அடிபோல் இலையினைக் கொண்டது. அதன் பூ மாலையில் கட்டிய மணி போன்றது. இந்தப் பூவைப் பறித்து மகளிர் தாம் செய்த வண்டல் பாவைக்குச் சூட்டி விழா விளையாட்டு விளையாடுவர். இப்படி விளையாடும் இடம் கொண்டது கடல் சார்ந்த சேர்ப்பு நிலம். அதன் தலைவன் சேர்ப்பன்.
