You! My shyness! Alas! You abide with me for a long time. Now you are leaving from me because of my lust emotion. What happens to dry sand in seashore when wave dashes on? So the lust emotion defeats you.

149. பாலை

அளிதோ தானே நாணே நம்மொடு

நனி நீடு உழந்தன்று மன்னே; இனியே,

வான் பூங் கரும்பின் ஓங்கு மணற் சிறு சிறை

தீம் புனல் நெரிதர வீந்து உக்காஅங்கு,

தாங்கும் அளவைத் தாங்கி,                                            

காமம் நெரிதரக் கைந் நில்லாதே.

உடன்போக்கு உணர்த்திய தோழிக்குத் தலைமகள் சொல்லியது.

வெள்ளிவீதியார் பாடல்

நாணமே! அந்தோ! நீ என்னோடு நீண்ட காலம் வாழ்ந்தாய். இப்போது என்னை விட்டு நீங்குகிறாய். கரும்புப் பூ (படம்) போலக் கடற்கரை ஓரத்தில் காய்ந்து கிடந்த மணல் கடலலை வந்ததும் நனைந்துவிடுவது போல நீ காமம் நெருக்கும்போது காணாமல் போய்விடுகிறாய்.
