Purananuru # 067

The swan in image could not fly a long distance.
But the swan of the Sangam Age can fly a long distance
The poet treats a male-swan as a messenger to his friend and says.
I am suffering in the evening while moon light warming me as the victorious king saves his subjects.
You, male-swan! When you are leaving to North-Hill (modern Tiruppati) after having fish-ayir prey, you please rest at the fort-wall of Uraiyur capital. There you enter into court and say aloud “I am from Pisirantai” so as the king PerunKoKilli to hear. If you did so he will give you some ornaments suitable your female-mate to wear happily.

Poem by: Pisirantaiyar
Poem to: KoPerunJozan
Message: praising the habit of the king
