Purananuru # 036

This is Thetri game played in rural area of Tamil Nadu. 

At the age in discussion it was played with marbles of gold.  

The king is seizing Karuvur. He is cutting the Royal tree of the king of Karuvur with axe. The king of Karuvur locked himself inside the fort in fear. The poet advises the seizing king he is doing shameful deed of attacking unequal person.

The poet points out the enjoyable beauty of river Aanporunai by the side of the capital where girls play Thetri game (tossing marbles) on sand-ground.
