A Panan of latter Period
kinds of Yal musical instument
played by Panan
A concubine says to a mediator of his man.
Pana! (A musician of Yal string instrument) it is ridiculous that your man behaves. He stands praising the King Valuti’s victory destroying many forts, as he has all the forts of his own property. I wouldn’t accept him for that purpose. Once he came to me mounting on horse making the horse steps slowly with pamper. At that time he wore garlands on his neck and head. My mother stood with a bamboo stick in anger to beat him. But she did not do. Will I leave him without enjoyment? Never, I shall do.

Poet: Kaduvan IlaMallanar
Poem belongs to 2nd century B.C.
