modesty
Lovers’ secret is conveyed to the nursing-mother of the love-lady by the friend-maid the loving girl partner. The proper way of conveying message has been adopted.
The friend-maid says, “It is no matter even the love-secret become known to her mother. Even if the murmuring words of the neighbors be heard by mother, is no matter to be mended. You know the God in the city, Poompuhar. I venture on that God and say these words.
We were playing along with our girl-friends on the seashore. Hide and seek, play in sea water, live in toy house, cook toy food and run aimlessly are some of the games we played. Then we rest on sand for some time.
A man approached us. He praised my lady’s beauty and said. “The sun sets. I am tired. I think it is better to me to stay with you in your village having something to eat”. We bend our head in modesty. He advised, it is not proper way of answering. We said, we have some fishes only to eat.
He diverted our attention pointing the ships on sea. “Please see the ships”. By this he wants to say he is the owner of the ships. “May I take leave from you”, he requests. She replied “All right”. He was looking us standing by the side his chariot.
The friend-maid finished her words.
The nursing mother nodded her head accepting her daughter’s love.
