Purananuru # 047

the poet searches as birds for gifts
This poem expounds the life of the poet by which it proves the poet Ilanrhatthan is not a spy.
The king NedunKilli suspected him as spy from his opponent King NalanKilli seizing his fort and attempts to kill.
The poet of this poem saved the suspected poet.
Poets go to the endowers searching for offer as birds fly to trees with fruits.
They cross all the way of arid lands.
They hail the endowers with their tong that do not know lye.
They satisfy with what an amount in any form they have received.
They share the amount of gifts with their and other families to enjoy.
They do not save for the future.
They offer the gifts to anybody with full-heartedness.
Then they search for other endower.
They do not know doing any harm to others.
They trod majestically as the king in rule.
